Professor Bender Redux by Devlin O'Neill and Teresa Wagner

Uncle Devlin is a bit worried. He hasn't seen much of Teresa during the past few days. Most of the time she is in her room, shifting papers and working on her computer, and she has gone shopping a lot. Devlin does not even want to think of her credit card bill that is due to arrive soon. He heaves a big sigh before picking up the morning paper.

Sometimes it is not easy to deal with his adopted niece. He wonders what would become of her if she didn't have the benefit of a guardian in her life who keeps her on track and gives her the love and discipline she so obviously needs.

After a few minutes Teresa swirls into the room and chirps a happy "Good morning, Uncle Devlin!" She bangs the door and almost flies over to him to give him a morning kiss.

Uncle Devlin puts down the paper, raises his left eyebrow and then can't suppress a smile.
