My first two years of college I lived in a dorm. It is a bit noisy and not really conducive to studying as invitations to party seem to be the norm. If I set aside some time for studying, it seemed that my roommate would know of a party that was about to begin. We did not miss many either. However, I was still getting very good grades, but by the time I was a Junior, classes were getting harder and more study time was required. I decided that I needed to get out of the dorm ratrace and find a more private and quiet place to live.

When I mentioned to my parents that I ws ging to work part time and move off campus, they said that their neighbor had a relative that lived close to the college. We talked to the neighbor ad they said that they were sure that his Aunt would be happy to have a boarder as long as it was someone that was known. So they gave her a call and explained that I needed a place to stay and was willing to pay for the room as well. She agreed to meet me and my family, to get a feel for what kind of people we were I guess, as she was ging to be visiting our neighbor the next weekend.

On Saturday, she arrived next door and they invited us all over to meet her. She was a great lady in her late 50's. She lost her husband 3 years before when he was in an accident. She liked us and as we were known by her Nephew, she said that she would b willing to have me a roomer.
