Sarah was referred to as "the mature student in business studies". In truth she was only 23 and wasn't therefore, particularly mature. She hated the tag although none of the rest of the students on her course made any reference to it and they didn't leave her out it was Mrs Sedgwick who would not let it be forgotten, she had seen Sarah waste her time at college when she was 18 and believed she should not have been given another chance. She only took a few months to batter poor Mr James into ensuring he made reference just to please her and keep him off her back.

This particular day the assignment given was to invest some money and make some money, hmm yes that simple. Of course the point was for them to research and invest wisely but as it was only £5 Sarah spent most of the day out in the sunshine hanging with a group of lads from her course. They too did not have the maturity to realise they could learn something but Sarah wasn't about to tell them, it was their problem.

Towards the end of the day the students were gathered together to report on their success or failure. Now ordinarily this would have been no problem for Sarah to be almost invisible during this class but the lads had persuaded her to have a few drinks at lunchtime and Sarah didn't need much alcohol to send her silly especially at lunch time after no food all day.
