Well so far my life seemed to be headed in all the wrong directions, I was just 18 and I had already been in 2 drug centers. I was a problem child from the start.

My homelife sucked and my parents hated each other, I was amazed that they where still together after the long years of resenment and hatered between them. But that was not my problem I had an addiction to [censored] and alcohol. Now dont get me wrong I wasnt a junkie I just liked to smoke piles of pot and do cocaine on top of drinking like a fish. So this naturally caused me plenty of problems in my early teen years. You know trouble in school and at home I got brought home by the cops on a regular basis for being out late and drunk,thank god I didnt have a drivers license I could have killed some one.

So now I am out of my second rehab and I have awhole new look on life I go to my first recovery meeting and meet some pretty cool people that seem to want to help me stay sober. One guy offers to give me a ride home and since I cant drive and it is along walk I accept. His name is Steve and he seems to be a real nice guy who likes to help the new person get adjusted to the new way of life. He gives me a ride and along the way we talk about the recovery thing and life before meetings and then he tells me that he is gay. I am shocked and not sure what to do or say so I keep quite. But at the same time I am curious about this person who is so very open to me. He told me that he is honest right up front so there is no misunderstandings later. I can respect that. ...
