It was Saturday night and the band and I were just finishing up a set. I was ready for a drink and a break. In my job, it's par for the course to get hit on regularly. I stand on a stage all night and do my best to look and sound as sexy as possible. I wear skimpy dresses and flirt with everyone, guys and girls. That's how we keep the crowds coming and the bar owners happy. Large crowd means a large take at the end if the night. Don't get me wrong, I love what I do, but on nights like this one, I'd rather be at home, curled up in front of the fireplace with a glass of wine and a good book.

The weather was bad. It had rained for days. Thankfully, our equipment was still at Jimmy's from the show the night before. I was just stepping off the stage, reaching for a towel to wipe off the sweat caused by the spotlights.
