New to the Neighborhood, Part One

My husband and I just moved to Kansas from out of state. We are in a suburb of Kansas City. We have a new house and lots of new neighbors that are about our age, which is early 30's. Our new home is in a subdivision that one builder builds in. Our house was the 3rd one finished. At first I thought I would be lonely, my husband was working lots of hours and I wanted to wait until we got settled in before starting to job hunt. During the daytime hours, I was the only homeowner that was at home. The only people I saw were the subcontractors that were in and out of the neighborhood working on the yet to be completed homes.

I don't know if you've ever moved into a new house, I never had before, so I had no idea of what to expect. There are usually lots of little things that need to be fixed, or touched up by the various subcontractors. And then you have all the regular hookups of utilities that you need to schedule. And what would a new house be without new furniture? You got it... all the delivery drivers are in and out of your house too.

The first to arrive at the house was the cable guy. He got there the day the movers were unloading the truck. We needed our TV! This guy was drop dead gorgeous. He was tall, sandy blonde, blue eyes, and had a great body - all hard and tanned. I was following him all over the ...
