My back was to my office door, as I typed away at my final project for the day. I was engrossed in my work, and didn't hear the tapping of high-heeled shoes against the linoleum floors. I nearly jumped out of my chair when I heard my office door close with a sudden SLAM. Spinning around in my chair, my eyes growing wide as I saw her standing there.

'Dawn, what are you doing here?' I asked, as my eyes began to take in her attire.

She shifted from one leather boot clad foot to the other, the black leather trench coat she wore making that sound that only leather can make, as she moved. 'Girl, look at the clock, and then ask me that question again!' she replied, a hint of annoyance in her voice.

Tearing my eyes from her, looking at the clock, muttering softly, 'oh shit, where'd the time go,' as I saw it was nearly 7:30 pm.

'You were supposed to have been home almost 2 hours ago, I waited, you didn't show, so I came looking for you' the annoyance in her voice becoming stronger.

'I'm sorry Dawn, it's overtime Friday, I thought I....', my voice trailed off slightly as I ran through things in my head. I could have sworn that we had discussed I would be working overtime today. I ...
