"Hey, did you win that Polaroid you were telling me about last month?" Gene asked after opening the Part's Room door, letting me in.

"Damn right, thanks to that order you gave me last month." I set my brief case next to his desk. "It was enough to put me over the top."

Gene had been a good customer of mine for over two years, and during that time, I had socialized with him after work, buying him dinners and plenty of beer.
