I was sweaty and tired, but the DJ was spinning an extended dance mix of Tori Amos’ Raspberry Swirl, arguably one of the hottest songs ever written, and the throbbing beat only made it more so. How could I stop dancing?

I lifted my arms, and swung my hips out in circles, feeling the beat pulsate through me. I closed my eyes and let the music wash all the stresses of life away. My body was an instrument of the music and I let it guide me. Well, until I bumped into someone. Feeling idiotic and guilty at the same time, I opened my eyes to see whom I’d collided with.

“Sorry...” I started to say, as I stared into the deepest brown eyes I’d ever seen in my entire life. “I...uh, I didn’t mean to bump, uh, I didn’t see you,” I mumbled.

The man I’d bumped into just smiled and shook his head. “No problem,” he yelled over the music. “You were enjoying the music quite thoroughly, weren’t you?”

“I love this song,” I screamed. “Tori Amos is absolutely one of the greatest singers ever.” Pause. “In my opinion, of course.”

“Assumed.” He said with a grin. “Want to dance?”
