One of my favorite bands was coming to town and I was very excited. I called my buddies and told them I was going to buy tickets but to my dismay none could make it to the show on a Wednesday. I decided I was going to go alone and have fun anyway, it wasn't everyday Rancid came to town.

I hung out at a bar down the street from the show and got a good buzz before I made my way over. I got there early and there was a small group of drunken punks waiting for the doors to open. I was dressed in blue jeans and a Rancid shirt I had got at a show a few years earlier and I looked out of place with the guys wearing spiked leather jackets, ripped up jeans and an assortment of punk hair cuts, but contrary to what most people think punk rockers are generally nice people and before long we were reminiscing about past shows and talking about punk bands we liked and generally having a good time.

By the time the doors opened there was a large crowd of fans waiting to get in. The security guards patted us down for [censored] and weapons, took our tickets and let us in. I managed to sneak a couple of well-hidden joints in and I made my way to the stage.
