I knocked on the door and adjusted my tie as I waited for the homeowner to come and answer it. About 30 seconds later there was still no answer. I peeked into the little window to the right side of the door to see if anyone was home. I then noticed the doorbell button so I pushed it and waited some more.

It was my last house of the day that I was going to stop at so I wasn't in any hurry. I had my briefcase full of insurance papers for the homeowner to look at to see if they would be interested in switching to our company.

Another 20 or 30 seconds had past and I peeked in again. I quickly pulled my head back when I saw someone's feet as they headed down the steps from their upstairs. I didn't get much of a shot as to who it was or what they looked like, just feet. My heart was thumping a little faster than normal when I heard the homeowner fiddling with the key to unlock the deadbolt. I though that I was going to get hollered at for peeking into the house.

The door slowly opened a little and the homeowner peeked her head around the door.

"Yes?" the homeowner asked.

I looked up to her face and I lost all sense of reality. I got trapped ...
