THE REUNION

A blast of hot warm, sultry air hit my face as I stepped out of the plane and into the tarmac. This was my first time here and I was already feeling the uncomfortable heat prick my skin as slow rivulets of sweat rolled down my back. I dabbed my forehead with my handkerchief and walked into the air-conditioned bliss of the airport area.

I collected my luggage and made my way towards the exit. I was a little tense with this trip. It was nearly eight months that my husband and I had been separated by this new job of his.
