Evening Shade

It was one of those hot Texas days where you could feel the heat coming off the pavement. John had pulled up in front of the old storefront that sat next to the café he had been told had "the best chicken fried steak in Central Texas." He stepped out of the cool, dark tinted haven of his car, murmured at the expected swelter of summer heat, when he glanced up to see a great pair of legs topped by a divine ass walk into the same café he had been told about. He beeped his car lock, and took the two steps up the high curb with a slight grin on his face, thinking about how he could get to see that divine ass a little closer. The air conditioning came at him like a soft breeze as he pulled the door open and entered the Town Café. A faint smell of perfume preceded the richly mixed odors of lunch. John paused to see if a waitress would seat him or if he should find his own seat. As he glanced around the somewhat long and narrow café, he noticed that there was a second floor accessible by a spiral staircase at the back of the café.

Miss Divine Ass was just approaching the top of the stairs as a young waitress asked, "You by yourself, Mister?" "Yes, I am. Just looking for a good meal after a long drive this morning," John was glad he still had his sunglasses on so the waitress wouldn't see him as he watched Miss Divine Ass sit at a table with another attractive woman.
