He walked into the house and noticed immediately that something was amiss. His wife sat at the kitchen table with a strangely distant look on her face. Beside her sat his ex girlfriend wearing something low-cut. Her cleavage mirrored his wife's, who was wearing a little black dress she had just lost enough weight to fit back into again after having had their first baby. There was a soft, strange music playing in the background. Their daughter was staying at a friend's house for the night, and the grown ups had bought a few bottles for the evening ahead a few days before. Now there was a candlelit table and a few glasses of wine beside the two women. Not what he was expecting.

"Hi Joe," She said softly.

Oddly his wife said nothing, but sat there with a vaguely satisfied smile on her face.

"Sit down," said his ex girlfriend, it sounded more like a command than a request. He was not the kind of man that obeyed commands from anyone. Nevertheless he felt strangely compelled. He sat down out of curiosity, though he had a strange sense of foreboding in the pit of his stomach.

His wife wore a dark shade of lipstick that made her normally very innocent face look deviant. Her eyes wore a far off look.
