Dream Come True

"This is the last one, Jim," Matt said handing me a beer. "The fidge is empty."

Matt and I, like every Saturday night since starting college, had been bar hopping. After having several drinks at our favorite bars (and me pretty buzzed), Matt invited me home for a few beers. His roommates had gone out, so Matt and I got to share all five beers in the refrigerator.

"Guess it's about time to call it a night then," I said getting up from the couch and heading toward the bathroom.

"Sure, Jim, when the beer runs out, it's time to leave," Matt said.

"No, Matt, it's late, and I'm buzzed. I better head home after this beer," I slurred. "But first I need to drain some to make room for the last one," I laughed as I staggered and bumped into an end table.

Matt helped steady me and aimed me down the hallway toward the bathroom. I felt the room spin as I stood at the toilet draining my bladder. When I finished, I splashed cold water on my face. ...
