I know it's a long time ago, but then great memories are what we live on as we age. When I was seventeen and learning to drive, I used to chauffeur my dad out on a Sunday. He was a priest, an Episcopalian priest, who'd chosen to work in ‘the real world' as a teacher, but in the summer, and sometimes at other times of the year, one of his old country parishes would call him for help as a replacement for the resident.

It was July, and I'd just finished high school.
