I've always loved walking aimlessly. Strolling without a purpose, simply letting my feet carry me wherever. Watching people as I go along, imagining what they're running from or after. On one of those aimless expeditions, late last summer, I encountered some familiar faces. I was walking down St-Lawrence, the hippest street in town, when I heard someone knocking on the restaurant window I had just gone by. I turned around, just in case that knock had been aimed at me, and my mouth broke into a wide smile. There was Carrie, a very close friend, grinning right back at me. She was accompanied by a good looking man, who was busily looking me up and down. She gestured for me to come in and I headed for the entrance of the restaurant thinking I'd say "Hi" and chat a little before going on my way and leaving her to her date.

"Hey you! You're mixing with the snobs now?" I blurted out laughingly, referring to the hip crowd that usually filled this kind of place.

"Well I though it would be a nice change from the gutters you usually drag me to," she laughed. "This is one of Steve's friend's restaurants. Steve is treating me today, and that is the only reason you're finding me among the 'look at me' crowd."

"Hum, hum. Excuses, excuses!" Still grinning, I turned to her companion. He was cute, definitely had charm. Extending my hand to him, I introduced myself:
