Carl slapped at the night stand, half hoping he would finally break the alarm clock this time, but merely managing to hit the snooze for the third time in a row. It wasn't that he really needed to get up at any particular time. As resident manger and maintenance man for the complex, all he really had to do was make sure that the apartments were rented and that everything was in working order.
