Darrell just turned 18, and he knew what that meant. It was time to get a real job. No more summers of lying around all day and night. As a trade off, he knew that meant money for a car and the freedom of doing whatever he wanted, so it wasn't such a bad deal. He already knew about a new department store opening up really close to his house, so he figured it'd work out nicely. He got an application, and two interviews later, he had the job.

After all summer of slaving away, he finally had a car just in time for the school year. He promised himself this year was going to be different. No more hitching rides with friends and sitting home all night and on the weekends. No, this year was going to be different. This year he was determined to get a girlfriend.

Darrell was about 6'5" and weighed almost 220lbs. While not the best looking of kids, he had a great sense of humor and a great heart to make up for it.
