Piper was stressed. The deadline for her story was less then 12 hours away, and she hadn't even started. This wasn't the first time that she'd bombed an assignment, and if she messed up again, she would lose her job. She didn't know what she was going to do. She had several interviews lined up with several different people, but none of them panned out. How hard could it be to do a profile on a local business leader. She was sure that the editor had it out for her. That's when she got the idea. She would profile her editor. It was perfect. Sure it was last minute, and she could have produced a much better article if she had thought of it sooner, but she didn't. It was now or never. What would she tell him. How would she justify doing this interview with less than 12 hours before it had to be to press. She would think of that later. Thinking on her feet was something that Piper did well and she knew it. "Ok, here goes nothing!" She left her office and found herself standing in front of her editor's office door afraid to knock. "Come on Piper, knock already. Time's wasting."

So, she did. She knocked, and was told to come in. "Hi Matt, Uh, I mean Mr. Ryan. I know you're busy but I need your help." Piper walked into Matthew Ryan's huge office, and looked around. She had forgotten how big it was. "Piper, you know better than that, you can call me Matt. What is it that you need my help with?" "Well, Matt, you know the profile peice that you wanted me to do on a local business leader" She could see the look on Matt's once calm face turn angry. "You mean the one that goes to press in about 11 hours?" He yelled at her. ...
