The Revue

Brian had entered the stage production as another way of getting close to her. She was basically everything that he thought he wanted, gorgeous, intelligent, friendly, humble and most importantly, she had a wicked sense of humour. It was 8am on the Saturday before the university revue was due to play to a live audience and Brian was running late.

Brian had an irrational fear that if he didn't turn up on time, the fickle Directors would decide that his commitment wasn't strong enough and give away his roles. Streaking down the undulating road towards the campus, Brian was afforded some time to think about the production and his role in it. Traditionally, the medical faculty organised an annual revue - a collection of skits with a plot running through. Basically a comedy show, written, produced and directed by the students. Brian was playing a lunatic (read: overtly insane ex-doctor) whose primary role was to ham it up as much as he could in order to get as many laughs as possible. Thus far he had been acting as a mixture of Dustin Hoffman from ‘Rainman' and Brad Pitt in '12 Monkeys' it had been received well and the addition of a comical ...
