As I tugged the seatbelt a little tighter and settled back into my seat, I gazed out the window as our plane lifted off from Los Angeles. The beaches were still fogged in with that June marine layer that hung around for days on end this time of year, which was how I was able to get Kathleen to take this trip in the first place. I smiled as I thought about the promise of the days ahead. I was taking her to sunny beaches and warm waters for an all-inclusive price, just as the brochures described, but little did she know about the "extras" that came with the resort.
