Ronnie had a long drive ahead of him: time to do a lot of thinking. He thought about how his marriage had gone wrong. It wasn't a single event, just a long slow slide to desperation. Sometimes he thought of it as if there had been a fork in the road. She had gone one way, and he had gone the other. Just a slight difference in direction, but as time went on they got further and further apart. At its base, it was communication, of course. But a large component of it was manifested in their sex life, or lack there of.

It just seemed that she didn't like sex. Oh, she might say she did, if pressured. But she never initiated sex, rarely had an orgasm, and just never seemed to enjoy it.
