Gary and Kristen Johnson, the same people who owned the bar, owned the house we lived in. They had lived there for several years prior to building a new house a few years ago. It was a turn of the century farmhouse with high ceilings, massive rooms and a huge porch on the front. They had spent quite a bit of money modernizing while they lived there, and in addition to the interior being completely remodeled, one of the nicest amenities was a huge deck with a built in hot tub.

It was large enough to comfortably seat 8 or 10 adults, was over three feet deep in the center, and had 3 different seating levels. The seats were primarily shoulder depth with two spots that were approximately six inches shallower for somebody shorter, but there was also a pair of steps at each end that you could sit on. Those would leave you slightly less than waist deep in the water, and came in handy if you got too hot and needed to cool off a bit.

Amber and I sat together on one side, with her using one of the slightly higher seats. Jerry sat across from us sandwiched between Tina and Sarah. Susie seemed to be the odd man out, but it was pretty obvious that she didn't care. She took a few minutes to make sure we all had something to drink, and then sat next to Amber and me
