"Un altro dello stesso, per favore," Mia said as she pushed her glass towards the bartender. He quickly refilled the glass and slid it back across the bar to her. She looked down at the red liquid and groaned. I'm pathetic, she admonished herself. I'm trying to drink him out of my system with his drink.

She almost pushed the glass back at the bartender, but a drink was a drink. She picked up the glass as she turned on the barstool. Her eyes roamed the darkened club as she lifted the glass to her lips. The unfamiliar faces blended together over the rim of her glass as the liquid flowed into her mouth. The sight of a familiar face amongst all the strange ones caused her to gasp, abruptly sending the drink into her windpipe. Mia coughed and leaned over until she was able to catch a clear breath.

It couldn't have been him, she thought as she sat back up. She scanned the crowd and sure enough, the face was gone.

Great, now I'm hallucinating. She tossed back the rest of the drink and motioned to the bartender again.
