Chapter 1

WOW! What a night. Not one I was expecting; but one I'll remember for a long, long time. It started like this- -

Monday was it's usual crappy day at the office, and I was thankful when it was time to head home. Home is a one-bedroom apartment in a complex of buildings that all look alike. When I entered my apartment, I turned on the TV, opened the sliding glass door to the balcony then went to the refrigerator for a beer. Just then, I realized that the verdict of the Michael Jackson trial was being read. "- and on the second count, Not Guilty" So it went, with the TV cameras panning to the crowd where one lady was releasing a white pigeon or dove with each count of "Not Guilty." There were ten "Not Guilty" verdicts. I thought they would at least find him guilty of giving Alcohol to a Minor, but wasn't surprised at the other "Not Guilty" verdicts.

"Shit!" I exclaimed as I stared at the nearly empty refrigerator. A jar of Peanut Butter(what it was doing in there I really don't know), a bottle of Catsup, and another of Mustard. Worst of all, no beer. "Oh well." I said to myself, shut the door and went into the bedroom to change to my jogging clothes.
