Trent was an 18-year-old "super-genius" who graduated from high school at the tender age of 14, so that he could study astrophysics, quantum theory at Harvard. After getting several degrees simply within a few years, he moved on to become a writer (a rather unsucessful one at that) as well as many other things. He had fantastic ability in science, yet he never applied himself. He had gotten many, many job offers, but surprisingly, science never interested him. So instead, he stayed in his apartment in San Jose, California, messing with programs and cracking codes that even the Pentagon's scientists have yet to comprehend.

His newest experiment was the ability to cause light to "bend" around matter, thus rendering it invisible.

Anyway, he sat in his dark apartment around 9:30 until he saw her; he saw a beautiful 24-year-old brunette whom lived in an apartment building across the street. He never considered himself much of a voyeur, but nevertheless, he couldn't help but stare at her as she got undressed. But alas...she always closed the curtains before he could see anything good.

He continued tinkering with his little invisibility program when he finally figured it out! The energy field which he was originally using to bend light was completely wrong. In bending light, it also bended matter, therefore rendering it invisible. Therefore, he had to adjust ...
