The Inadvertent Date

As he approached the doors to the convenient mart, Dave saw a woman approaching from inside. He pulled the door open and stood back to allow her to walk out. She was slightly shorter than he was. Her auburn hair glistened in the afternoon sun. She smiled at him as she walked past him.

"Thank you." It was soft and yet warm.
