He had been looking forward to the tournament for months. Eighteen holes on the most challenging golf course in the county. He'd been invited to participate after blowing away all the other competitors by winning the last competition five under par. Damn, he was good. And he loved to win.

He performed his pre-tournament ritual like a knight going into battle by spending hours meticulously ironing his carefully chosen outfit.. He always wore his lucky golf cap and personally designed golf watch with the divot tool and magnetic ball marker. He was psyched, he was focused, he was ready for anything. After signing the necessary papers, he decided to relax on the patio overlooking the course until tee off. He ordered coffee and was just about to light a cigarette when a woman's hand took it from his lips.

"That's not healthy, especially today."

He looked up at the intrusive figure. She was tall and slender. The rays of the sun on her back ignited the glow of her vibrant red hair.

"Mind if we join you?" Not waiting for him to reply, she sat down and pulled the chair closer to him.
