As I am in Texas, visiting you; we decide to go for a horse ride. We decide to go to an equestrian park that features hiking as well. It's about a 20 mile drive east of Austin, from Wimberley, just off of Highway 71; but you heard that McKinney Roughs Equestrian and Hiking Park, although not a state park, is wonderful. It is run by the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA). McKinney Roughs is 1100 acres of awesome scenery with 18 miles of mostly dirt trails.
