Let me start out by saying that this is a short story of one who has lost it all but life goes on. It's a story for the season. Merry Christmas! Tiger

She was in her early forties. A attractive lady that even after having two children maintained her shape by being active and working out. Her name is Mary Jane. Jane for short.

Jane was raised in a small town. She was the only child of hard working parents that owned a small "mom and pop" restaurant. She attended a major college after high school. A education that her parents saved for since she was born. In her first year at college and away from home for the first time in her life she met a very handsome young man that was working at a service station. He too was a only child and his parents owned the station. As in all girl meets boy relationships, they quickly moved on to dating. They had much in common and they just were right for each other. They were both the same age, nineteen. His name was Tom and while having just a high school education and a desire to be like his father, just a small town mechanic, he would eventually take over the business.

Tom proposed to Jane on Valentine's Day just four months after they had met and placed a small diamond on her hand. Jane was totally over joyed! She loved Tom and she knew that a hard working man that reflected her father's work ethic could provide for her and together ...
