The Alliance

I hung up the phone with the real estate broker and called my son Dustin who was staying at a friend's house. I told Dustin that I had to go out of town on business and I would be home the next day at my normal time. I asked him to come home after school and we would have dinner together. Dustin was glad to come home, he had been spending a lot of time with friends after we got back from his grand fathers funeral. With his mother still out of town and me working so much, I think Dustin was a little lonely.

I grabbed some clothes, tore out of the house and jumped into my car. On the way out of town I picked up some wine and I stopped by a small specialty deli that a life long friend of mine owns and asked him to put together a snack tray for me. Richard asked me what the snacks were for. I explained to him it was a romantic evening with my lady. Richard looked at me and smiled, he said: "Good for you David! I will have you fixed up in just minute."
