It was that time of the year when the city of Mumbai in India was affected by the worst ever rains in the history of rains worldwide. I was stuck in the office waiting for the rains to cease, I thought I would be safe there, but the water started flooding the premises and I had no other option but to consider walking home - a distance of around twenty miles. Along with me, there was a junior who worked under me stuck in the office. The two of us wondered what to do.

"Madam, I stay close by," he said. "You can come and wait at my place till the rain stops."

"Thank you very much. I will manage on my own." I declined his offer.

"It is really not safe out there," he said. "All transport is stalled, there is water up to your waist and considering where you live, you will not be able to reach till afternoon tomorrow even if you start walking now."

He was insistent and to reiterate his point, the electricity in the office went off.

"How far is your house from here?" I asked him.

"Not far, seven minutes on foot on a normal day," he answered. "Considering the rains today, it might take about twenty minutes." ...
