Work can always seem to take forever. You were just moved into your new corner office on an "upper" floor, courtesy of your new promotion. Along with the office, you were also given two assistants. You like actually doing your work, and you are frustrated with the fact that you have to hand some of it over two these two young interns who really don't know what they are doing. You found a nice solution to the problem though. You send them out "into the field" to conduct research. Since you have moved up, the offices on your floor are very secluded and when the assistants are gone for the day, it's peaceful and quiet, exactly how you like it when you are working.

I knew exactly where your office was, seeing as I helped you move in. I called you early one Friday morning to see how things were going. I had taken the day off work, but you didn't know that yet. You said you had just sent the little hellions out for the day and that most of your co-workers had taken the day off. This was going to be easier than I thought. We talked for a few minutes and then you got back to work.

I arrived around 11:45, just when I knew the few people left in the building would be either leaving for lunch or even the day. I took the elevator up to your floor. I was getting looks from a few of the stragglers. I had spent an hour getting ready to see you, so I knew I looked good. I checked myself one last time in the ladies' washroom and then walked over to your office.
