I met a man at a party who, I learned, had just turned 60. We both came solo so it was only a matter of time before we were introduced to each other by our host, which was a good thing since there were so many couples there and very few singles.

His name was Kenneth. When we were introduced he gave me a friendly hug and a "hello" kiss on the cheek. Very charming, I thought.
