It was Friday morning and the start to the most memorable weekend I think I will ever have. It was supposed to be a ‘last hurrah' for one of my best friends and I. Holly was moving across the country and we'd been very close friends for about 6-7 years. We met in university when we had some of the same classes and because we worked well together, our friendship grew. I think because both of us were in relationships, and were never single at the same time, neither of us ever entertained the idea of getting together.

The weekend before she had her plane, we decided that we'd take a road trip to New York City to party and do some good shopping. I picked Holly up in the late morning and we were on our way. The drive went by quickly as we chatted and listened to music, before we knew it, we were crossing the bridge onto Manhattan and were headed to the hotel. I had booked a room at the Parker Meridian online to get a good rate and the excitement grew as got deeper into the city. When the valet had taken the car, and our bags were on a trolley we stepped up to the check-in.

I gave the usual details, before the lady at the front desk said that we had gotten an upgrade for booking online.

" A park view" she told us.

" Sounds great" I said as I looked over at Holly.
