Tom shut the door to his office and as he turned the key to lock up for the weekend, the phone rang. Standing there, it rang the second time as he tried to decide if he wanted to answer it or not. 7:45 on a fri night, did he want to take the call? He turned back the key, unlocking the door on the third ring, took long stides to his desk and grabbed it on the fourth. The dial tone buzzed in his ear as the other party hung up. If it's important, they will call back on monday, Tom thought as he cradled the phone on the base.

Jane pressed the END button on her hand held phone. Tom must have left the office and is on his way home, she thought. Fourty-five minutes!
