The music blared through the darkened club. A band with an unpronouncable name played away with passionate fervor on the stage, the singer crying out the words to some song about a space-ship. it was a cheezy concept but hey, they were good performers. I, meanwhile, sat in the back of the club, taking in the whole scene. I saw all the people dancing and having a good time.

I was new to this town, and I had decided to give this night club a try, to see what it was all about, and perhaps mabie meet one or two people. I sat there alone on a couch and sipped my drink, not really sure what to do to get anyone's attention. I was pretty convinced I was going to spend the night stag and just take a cab back to my apartment after the club closed.

The band's performance ended, and people began to wander away from the dancefloor and mingle. i guess this is where my half-assed plan to find somone to talk to came into play. there i still sat, on the two-seat couch, waiting for somone to ask if the seat next to me was taken.
