Strange dreams

Jenna had just moved into this little old house with her family. She had spent all of her 18 years in San Diego, but then her father got "the chance of his life", and they all had to leave their lifes behind and move to New Orleans where he got a job as a managing director. She didn't regret leaving her life behind too much: She never really fitted in, and maybe another town and another school would change everything. So here she was, in this hundred and fifty-seven year-old house. When she had first seen it, it sent shivers down her spine. She couldn't analyze why she didn't like it, she couldn't describe what exactly she didn't like, but something was wrong here.

As they oldest of three siblings she got the privilege of having a room all on her own, while her fifteen year-old brother Jake had to share his room with Benny, the eight-year "Benjamin" of the family.

The first night was quiet. Jenna had really slept well, and she started accepting that this would be her home for quite some time to come. Then, during the second night: She had just fallen asleep when she began to dream. She dreamt, and this was what seemed really odd to her afterwards, that she was lying in her bed. Something was there, she didn't see anything, but she felt its presence. She woke up and listened, but couldn't hear a sound.
