Oh god that hurts! The back of my eyes feel like someone is attacking them with a power drill. Keeping them tightly clamped to avoid any light, my hands grope around the bed. The apparently empty bed. And damn if it isn't hot in here, the light linen sheet clinging to my sweat soaked body.

"Hey you up yet?" an intolerably loud voice hollers from somewhere in the room. "Sshhhhhhhhh" is my strained monosyllabic reply. "Hah, suffering slightly are we?" A woman's voice. Oh yeah, I definitely remember Maddy as well. Madison and I have been friends for years, occasional lovers and, far too frequently, drinking buddies.

And then recollection sneaks up on my like a cheap shock in a badly scored horror flick. We're in Tijuana, on a week long escapism trip. Time to get away from work, life, all the other shit, and just relax with good people and good weather. That explains the sweaty sheets, but not the hangover. I usually stay away from spirits for this very reason.
