It was cold that night....Lainie felt it only adding to the coldness that had engulfed her heart. She sat on her bed in the dimly lit room, sobbing. Mark had called her that morning saying he was taking another job in Phoenix and it was best he did before they got too attached to each other. What the hell does that mean?

Lainie was crying that whole day and felt totally alone and unworthy. She had really liked Mark a lot and it was the first strong relationship she'd had in a long time. It wasn't like she was a clingy person, she wasn't. As she sat analizing and trying to find out what it was she did wrong, the phone rang. She wiped up her tears with her sleeve and sniffled, trying not to sound so weepish.
