This is a remake of a story I wrote earlier. It is a favorite of mine and there might be several chapters depending on how it goes. Any and all input is appreciated. I did change the story line some, I hope you enjoy.

Chapter 1 The beginning

I had met Karen back when I was fifteen. I had just started High School and she was the first girl I talked to when I got there. Not that she really had a choice. I bumped into her knocking books and her soda on the ground and I fumbled around trying to help her which really just made it worse. I was shy and dump when it came to the opposite sex and when she talked to me I was almost shocked.

I had lived in a small town in Maryland where everybody knew everybody. We lived about five miles from town and about four or five miles from school. I found out later Karen lived a few miles away from me. Back then there weren't many houses around so usually after school I spent all my time hunting. When I was twelve, my Dad had bought me a shotgun and all I wanted to do was hunt. I was pretty much a loner but I didn't mind. I read a lot and learned a lot about the animals, what their footprints looked like. I learned about the plant life, what was good to eat and what wasn't. It was fun finding footprints and tracking to see where they went. I got good enough that I could track a deer for miles before I actually got close enough I could practically touch it. ...
