This is a true story of when I first came home from Viet Nam. 1968. NOTHING could compare to the "welcome home" Mrs. Brown gave me. It escalated to a further level, when I was at Ft. Dix for the next two months. It ended abruptly as I was about to come home permanently. Mrs. Brown, Judy....I'll always remember the great times we had. You didn't have to leave.

MRS. BROWN...but....Oh..Oh..

It was the summer of '68, and I just arrived home from Nam. NOT much fan fare back then, we were the bad guys then. Rich had picked me up at the airport in Philly, and we headed back home. I didn't call the folks; I wanted to surprise them. For all they knew I was still in Calif. Rich and I pulled up in the driveway, which had two cars in it already, and we both departed the car and headed inside. "S S S U U U U R R R P P P R R R R I I I I S S S E E E" everyone hollered out. WOW, they fooled me. Rich laughed with a big smile on his face... "sorry buddy, you coming home alive to us, I just couldn't let this slip by...Welcome home". I got hugs and kisses from everyone. My Aunts, Uncles, two sisters and numerous friends and neighbors. "Ok buddy, your the best", I said. Rich patted me on the back and said he'll catch up with me later.
