Steve was spending his usual Sunday morning in the dorm lounge. He liked to pour over the Sunday NY Times crossword puzzle. He could spend the early hours after dawn when it was quiet and hours would pass before he knew it.

Actually, you could say Steve spent too much time in his own world. He attended this University because it had a great engineering program. His lifelong ambition was to become an engineer, so much so he didn't let things like a social life get in his way. He never dated, in fact he was still a virgin.

His roommate, John however, was quite the opposite, he seemed to have a date almost every weekend, and would have women spending the night in his dorm room every weekend.

John asked him why he wasn't interested in girls and this is when he admitted that he was still a virgin. John reacted with an air of indifference, but did later on pass the information on to Carolyn who was the dorm Assistant Resident.

Usually Carolyn would join Steve in the lounge an hour or so after Steve got there to read the paper and enjoy a cup of coffee. She lounged in her bathrobe as she read through the paper. Today was no exception. Steve ignored her usually as he was wrapped up in the crossword puzzle.
