The truth or dare party had been eagerly anticipated for a long time. The channel hadn't had a party in several years. The regulars recalled the great time that was had at the last party and word soon spread.

The channel had spawned many online friendships. It had become a close-knit community of those who liked to unwind online and have fun. Many of them had chatted with their new-found friends online and some had talked with them on the phone. These people were looking forward to meeting their friends in person for the first time. For others it would be a chance to become reacquainted with old friends.

Two of those who had met online were Ed and Josie. Ed originally had visited other channels but was turned off by the fact that there didn't seem to be a sense of community. In some channels there was a feeling of open animosity to outsiders. When Ed first came to the channel he was greeted warmly and made to feel at home.

Among the greeters was Josie. She herself had not been coming to the channel long, having been introduced to it by a friend. She took to it right away and had been spending many evenings chatting, playing and having fun.
