"Right the First Time"

If anyone's wondering, I consistently write about young people because I am a young person; not necessarily because that's what lots of people want to read about-although that helps. "So what time is this thing starting?"

Sonya eyed her older brother curiously and tried not to show too much of the excitement she felt. At eighteen, a pretty-faced, petite blond, she'd been reasonably popular in high school and had been to her share of parties, but those were, of course, always high school parties. She couldn't believe Justin was letting her stay. His friends were significantly older-out of college; most had real jobs. The fact that he was between leases on apartments was the only reason he was even living at home-otherwise, she certainly would have been excluded. The thought of partying with twenty-somethings made her feel very mature.
