"Oh God... I am so bored," I mutter under my breath as I clean the stainless steel around the drive through window. "Someday my writing will take off and I won't have to do this anymore. Stupid cold window." Now I'm grumbling and I hate grumbling.

I live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and it's been about 4 degrees out lately, (since it's winter) and I have to stand in this stupid fast food window for 6 hours, taking orders, taking money, making drinks, and in between orders I have to keep the dishes done - which means my hands are frozen and I can't even feel them halfway through my shift. I thought once I became a manger I wouldn't have to do this drive thru thing as much, but nooooo... "Liz, you're our best drive thru person. You're our fastest drive thru person, you'll just have to wait 'till we train someone else in."

"Well bite me. It's frickin' cold," I want to tell them, but I don't say anything. Until I'm dropping change because I can't feel my fingers.

At least today it's been remarkably slow, so today I'm actually a little slight bit on the toasty side, but I've got about 5 hours left in my shift and I'm bored.

I probably shouldn't be feeling sexy wearing my earwarmers, my gloves, my three jackets and this dorky headset, but I'm bored and when I'm ...
