Here we were, two guys sitting in lawn chairs bored out of our minds at a neighborhood party. My wife loved to host this annual event. She invites everyone on the block for cheesey games, grilled food, and of course much to my delight much alcohol. My friend Mark are given the titles of grill masters. That's okay with us because while we are grilling meat my wife likes to organize games. There is the three legged race, horse shoes, and water balloon toss. We are the lucky ones because we don't have to play these games with people that some we are friends and others we could care less about. There are kids screaming and running around all over the place. I spend a better part of the week getting our pool ready for this party that only the kids seem to enjoy. Adults never seem to get in because all the women don't want to get their hair wet or ruin their make up. Once the everyone eats the kids end up running around in a neigbors yard playing all the games they want to play. This is my wife's favorite part of the party, this is where she gets to talk to everyone and get to know them better. As you might be able to tell I am more of a one on one kind of guy. I have a few friends but they are good friends and I don't like large groups like my wife. When the social gathering begins that's when Mark and I set up a couple of chairs and a couple of beers and just watch as everyone gets drunk and makes fools of themselves. This year was going just like all the other years except for one significant thing, or should I say person. A couple of weeks ago there was this woman who moved in four houses down.
