Roger Reborn 13 By Will Buster

Allan entered his study the next morning only to encounter Roger reading a letter. The younger man looked up, "It appears that Edward Devereau won't give this business of a duel a rest. I supposedly have until June fifteenth to settle matters with him. It would be ironic if Mister Langdon spent all that hard-earned money and his daughter ended up with a corpse. Wouldn't it?"

Allan gave him a baleful stare. He was getting disconcerted by Roger's strange sense of humor that pervaded his son's attitude now. He supposed it was the influence of that strange other entity that resided in his son's body. He didn't know if he should have the lad committed or eliminated. If he had Roger committed the scandal might become public knowledge and that might impair his political career such as it was. If he had the lad eliminated then the estate might be in long-term jeopardy. However if Roger's predictions became reality than the truth was even more frightening than the other alternatives. How could it be possible that a personality from the distant future show up in his son's head? It was true he'd been acting very differently since that disastrous party but how could he believe such a remarkable and impossible story?

"Get away from my desk young man!" Allan gave Roger a dismissive wave and Roger immediately went to one of the other chairs. The distraught ...
