It was just another normal work day. Amin sat at his favorite table and ordered his luncheon special, rice pilaf, lamb and mixed vegetables with some herbal tea on the side. The Aurora might not be the greatest greasy spoon in the world but their prices were right and the establishment was only two blocks from the bank branch that he managed. He was still a bit edgy but things seemed to be very quiet and uneventful since the incident at the subway exit. So perhaps his little escapade had gone unnoticed. Amin knew from several newscasts that it sounded like the police had lost interest on the case quite rapidly. That was good. The longer the case remained cold, the less likely he would be questioned or even connected with that unfortunate occurrence. Of course, he and Alanda gained some precious life force from the event but it was getting harder and harder to get access to evil living ones in a time of peace.
